AIDS Walk raises $31,370

Friends of AIDS Saskatoon:

We're so very happy with the results of the 2011 Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life this past Sunday. We shot past our goal of $27,000 with a final total of $31,370. (For comparison, in 2010 we barely squeaked in over our goal at $25,010.)

This year's top individual walkers were Brian Bogdan, Chris Gallaway and Natalie Kallio. Top-raising teams were Team Rainbow & Roxy Theatres, The Brawny Board of AIDS Saskatoon, and M.A.C Cosmetics. Over 90 Walkers collected pledges -- they were joined by many more friends and family on the 2.6k walk through Riversdale and Victoria Park.

Thank you to everyone who participated by collecting pledges and/or donating to Walkers, the many businesses who donated, volunteers who helped run the Walk, our great friend and co-organizer the Avenue Community Centre, and the Roxy Theatre (not just a gorgeous new venue, but also phenomenal supporter and ally).

The following businesses and organizations generously gave donations of door prizes and awards for top fundraisers. Let them know you appreciate their support of HIV work in Saskatoon: The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, Radisson Hotel, The Roxy Theatre, The Centre for Inquiry Saskatoon, The Trading Post, Unreal City, Tastebuds Cafe, The Better Good, White Cat Books, 8th Street Books & Comics, Positive Passions, Rainbow Cinemas & Magic Lantern Theatres, Collective Coffee, Martin Farm Equipment, The Park Cafe, Salon Williams, Momentum Martial Arts, Wes Funk, Marion Mutala, Turning the Tide Bookstore, The Cupcake Conspiracy, TJ's Pizza, McNally Robinson Booksellers, Vive Music, Hot Yoga on 20th and Festivale Photography.

On behalf of the staff and people who access services at AIDS Saskatoon, THANK YOU!
