AIDS Saskatoon Board of Directors
Nanette Breker
President
Nanette previously worked as a nurse in the downtown east side of Vancouver, B.C., with a specialization in HIV and addictions. Since moving to Saskatoon, she has been looking for more ways to get involved in the HIV community. A year ago Nanette worked as a volunteer at the Westside clinic with the SWITCH program. She is dedicated to improving risk reduction services, and to increasing support, education, and resources for people living with HIV/AIDS. She divides her time between being a mom, knitting, cooking, gardening, and caring for her crazy Jack Russell.
Chris Gallaway
Vice-President
Chris is currently employed as a Community Organizer in Saskatoon. Since moving here from rural Saskatchewan he has been involved in numerous community organizations and campaigns. His concern over the growing health disparities and rates of infection in our city motivated him to look for ways to get more directly involved in AIDS Saskatoon. Chris brings with him experience in governance of community-based organizations. He is a strong advocate for outreach programs and the need to educate the public on the realities of those living with HIV/AIDS in our community. Outside of work he enjoys spending time in his community garden, cooking, and riding his bicycle along the beautiful Meewasin Valley trails.
Christine Chang
Secretary
Christine got involved with AIDS Saskatoon through volunteer work at the Sexual Health Centre through the Power of Many program. What interests her about AIDS Saskatoon, alongside the fantastic staff, is its holistic approach towards aiding those in the community affected by HIV/AIDS. She believes that promoting prevention and engagement is important in building a healthier community, and that having a supportive environment that provides such education is vital. She is currently a Masters student in Medical Anthropology. Christine is very excited to be a part of the AIDS Saskatoon board, and hopes to contribute to it to the best of her abilities! She also knits, sews, writes, does karate, and plays both piano and cello -- all badly!!
Aloys Fleischmann
Treasurer
Aloys is a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of English at the University of Alberta. He specializes in Indigenous and Japanese Canadian literatures. Currently residing in Saskatoon, he works part-time as a Sessional Instructor at the University of Saskatchewan. Aloys has a long and active history with both graduate student and labour unions in British Columbia and Alberta, and his interest in social justice, Community Service Learning, and issues that affect Aboriginal communities led to his involvement with AIDS Saskatoon. His extracurricular activities include event photography, rock climbing (mostly indoors here in Saskatoon!), hockey, and biking in all directions with his wife Nancy.

Teri Rothenburger
Jammie Townsend
Jammie has been an active supporter of AIDS Saskatoon since 1996 -- that's 15 years! Jammie attributes his motivation to work in HIV/AIDS to his sister Tracie, who passed away from AIDS-related illness after an 8-year struggle. Jammie is incredibly passionate about AIDS Saskatoon and the effort to support people affected by HIV, their families and loved ones. Jammie, always on bike, is active on the Fundraising Committee and takes a lead role in soliciting donations for the Christmas Hamper program.
Patti Trotchie
Patti Trotchie became involved with AIDS Saskatoon through her job as a Mental Health & Addictions Outreach Worker. Noticing increasing numbers of her clients testing positive for HIV, Patti made contact with AIDS Saskatoon. She worked out a deal with her employer to spend one afternoon a week at the 601, and has since become a fixture - providing support for PWAS and valuable networking for staff. Patti is committed to harm reduction, is a proud mom, and really likes to rock and roll.
