2009 Volunteer Orientation

Are you looking for a weekend full of drugs and sex?

Did I get your attention? AIDS Saskatoon and SHCS's joint volunteer program will be holding its annual volunteer orientation weekend really soon -- October 16-18, 2009. Spend a weekend with us learning about outreach, safer drug use and healthy sexuality. The weekend is geared toward new current and future volunteers at one of the two organizations, but everyone is welcome.

This weekend is meant to be an introduction to AIDS Saskatoon & Sexual Health Centre Saskatoon, the issues we face, and why we do things the way we do; after Orientation, you'll be better-equipped to work in whatever area you've chosen. This important training is offered only in October, and volunteers are strongly encouraged to participate during their first year.

Friday, Oct. 16th evening: Introductions; About the Power of Many program; HIV/Hep C Basics
Saturday, Oct. 17th: Confidentiality, Experiences of Street Life, & all about AIDS Saskatoon and the 601 Outreach Centre... + lunch!
Sunday, Oct. 18th: Sex-Positive Sexual Health, Pro-Choice, and all about Sexual Health Centre Saskatoon... + more!

All sessions will take place in AIDS Saskatoon's 601 Outreach Centre.

RSVP by Friday, October 9. When you RSVP, please advise of any allergies or dietary requirements. Veggie meals will be available.
